What gave (gives) me pause is the fact that
most of these “programs”
; (VPW included) are usually touted as “training” ;
programs, designed to enhance a user’s ability to play “error- free”
in a real casino environment.
The most common errors occur because the player doesn't always
relate hand types in a strategy chart with actual card patterns. I
have seen players study a strategy chart, then make the wrong play.
A “trainer” that just tells you which cards you should have held
doesn’t help with this problem.
Optimum Video Poker is the only true trainer, displaying the
strategy chart in the format of your choice next to the game window.
When you make an error, the best play is highlighted in the chart in
green, and your play is highlighted in red. This helps you to relate
the card pattern to the hand type.
