VPW version info

Just had to redownload VPW.

So for your info the latest version is 1,9.1.0. You can check yours
by going to VPW help and click on about.

If you want to see what version is latest on VPW web page, do a
download as if you were going to run the free trial. The download
window will show the version number. Just cancel if you do not want
that version.

Having an installed 1.0.0.0, what am I missing out on? Is there a set
of release notes anywhere?

Does updating simply involve a download and install, or does the
software install have to be revalidated?

If the software is updated, do all existing game statistics, user
defined games, and defined settings remain intact?

(To developer: These questions, and others, would best be addressed
in a FAQ on the VPW website ... or did I overlook it?)

I e-mailed the VFW site about a week ago, requesting information whether there are any
upgrades to the version that I purchased about a year ago.

So far, no reply.

How does an "official" owner of VFW get an upgrade? Is it "comp'ed", or is there a fee.

Thanks.

Harry always asks his questions a lot better than I do.

BL and HP, I have been lobbying with Mr. Dancer to try and get the web
site to at least show the latest version. He said he was going to
contact them.

Meanwhile, I published my post to help those who may not have the
latest installed.

I downloaded the prgram as if I was going to do a free trial, then I
went to the support page which in the FAQ has a link to submitting your
email address and what was your latest activation code. Apparently if
both match, they send you a new activation code which you type/paste
into the proper box and hit continue.

I have upgraded without cost several times this way, also when I have
had to reinstall Vista or when I get a new computer. Very
cooperative, but a little hard to find the steps to do so.

I have no idea as to what it does to existing saves.

And yes, the web page could be more helpful in that aspect.

I know that this is a late "thank you", but I have been on travel for a couple of days and
this is the first time I have had to log in and check vpFREE.

I will try this later today.
