Another comment from an experienced player:
<<The downside to using the freelance host is, once the high roller
is checked in at the selected property, he almost always must use an
in-house host to take care of any special needs. This can create
resentment on the part of the in-house host(s), as the player is
not "coded" to them--therefore they do not receive any credit for the
high roller's play. In-house hosts do not like freelance hosts, and
are not happy when their property does business with them!
Wonder if there might be "repercussions" for someone who uses an
independent, and then tries to use a "regular" host at the same
property? No way to be sure, I suppose. >>

We previously used ValetNoir, and are low to mid-level players
(Diamond at HET). At first, they were good since we had no casino
history and they could get us rooms in casinos that we hadn't visited
before (like Caesars LV). Eventually, we had a casino history, and
found that on-site hosts could do more for us. The only problem was
getting rid of Valet Noir. Takes multiple letters and months to get
recoded from ValetNoir to a local host, and it has to be done casino
by casino. It's a real pain, and I'm not sure I'm done yet.
