Another vote to please bring back the database blog (or keep the old
one current). Thanks.

One thing they should add is the database blog that the old database
had where it showed the recent updates to the database.

I concur please keep the present VPfree database

I concur please keep the present VPfree database

Um... are any of you paying for this site? I didn't think so.

Being a newer user of VPfree the transition to VPfree2 hasn't been all
that difficult for me. I can't see where I should be complaining. Like
I said, I'm not paying for the service. I should be happy that I'm not
paying for this because the fact is, I would as most of you would as well.

I may be swimming against the tide, but I strongly prefer the new
format. To me it is crisper, much more modern-looking, and I am sure
it is significantly easier to manage and maintain.

This is especially true since casino monitors can now edit "their"

In fact, it wouldn't surprise me to learn that a prime motivating
factor in developing the new database was the desire to distribute the
workload to the casino monitors, thus making the administrator's life a
lot easier.

The attempt was unsuccessful and disastrous. It took me
untold hours to repair the damage that the mixing of monitors
with html coding did to the DataBase.

Precisely.

It took a lot of time (a whole lot of time) for one person to
manually update the vpFREE DataBase, and we've been looking for
a better solution for a long time.

The new vpFREE2 database "http://www.vpfree2.com/" is THE
solution, and the old vpFREE DataBase is now permanently retired.

Although the new database has a lot of things that need fixing,
its basic search functions work fine, and overall it's a big
improvement over the old DataBase IMO.

The vpFREE2 administrators can change the appearance of the new
database, as they like, but I suspect they are very busy right
now addressing more important matters like fixing bugs, and
retaining, recruiting and training casino monitors.

Everyone is encouraged to help bring vpFREE2 up-to-date during
the current transitional shake-out period, and to help keep it
current and accurate in the future. vpFREE2 needs a volunteer
casino monitor for every casino, and a contact form is available
on the vpFREE2 site for sending suggestions and corrections.

Also, remember that vpFREE2 is a separate entity from vpFREE and
the old DataBase. Neither the vpFREE Administrator nor I are
involved in its operation, although I am serving as a vpFREE2
Casino Monitor.

I am a casino monitor for several places, and have been unable to get
into the system. I was sent instructions, but they all failed with
a "web page not found". I am not too worried as I have no need to
update anything at this point, but I never heard back from vpFREE2
about my problem. I was just wondering if I am the only one having
trouble?
