If you could get a significant percentage of nonsmokers to boycott, and also
let the casinos know WHY, it might make an impression. The second part is
easy, the first part is difficult. There has always been smoke in casinos, and
people are mostly used to it. They have decided that the upside of the casino
experience outweighs the negatives. And I agree--I will continue to play,
smoke or no smoke, though it would be more pleasant (for nonsmokers) without
it. Life is full of choices and tradeoffs!
You all remember how well it worked when we boycotted Suncoast after they
took out the best VP? No? Neither do I. And neither does Suncoast!
How about we all get together and open our own nonsmoking casino? We can put
in the best VP on the latest machines, have easy comps, and the best buffet
in town. Then we can go broke, and everyone will say, "See, nonsmoking casinos
don't work!"

Skip,
This is a brilliant idea! I would like to be the first to volunteer
not to play for one week! It has to be this coming week, however.
After that, I'll be in LV for a few days! (-:
I hope that lots of other vp-ers join our boycott!

True, and I suspect that is not something those private businesses
would like very much, since they would lose about 75% of their

problem would be solved immediately.
Hmmm.... a one week boycott? I think you might have hit on a great
idea.
