Make light of it if you wish, but a non-fiction author has
an obligation to clearly differentiate facts from opinions.
A reputable non-fiction book doesn't intentionally present
something as a fact, if it is untrue, inaccurate or just an
opinion. Doing so is irresponsible, creates overall
credibility concerns and compromises a book's integrity.
Jean Scott's response on vpfree indicates that she has
backed off from her statement and now merely prefers
vp-mail and believes it provides good value to most people.
This apparently constitutes a grudging admission that the
"best site, by far" statement was only an opinion and that
it was overstated.
The first printing of MFG is permanently tainted with a
factual misrepresentation that was made with prejudice.
Jean will make appropriate corrections if she wants future
printings of MFG to be honest and accurate.

My final comment on this matter is that I'm a Jean Scott
fan because I admire and respect her advocation and
articulation of the merits of advantage video poker. OTOH I
think she promotes herself too much, and I believe that
misguided loyalty sometimes negatively infuences her
forthrightness.
