"... the internet, where there's an abundance of
information about the changing world of video poker. The
best site, by far, is Skip Hughes' www.vphomepage.com, a VP
gold mine."
This statement is astonishing to me.<<<<
Jean's "best site, by far" statement in MFG isn't presented
as her OPINION, or as her PREFERENCE. It is presented as a
FACT. If it is an accurate statement, she should be able to
document it. If not, she should apologize and remove it
from future printings of MFG.
Instead, Jean Scott has responded on vpfree and has used a
whole lot of words doing a Rob Singer type rendition of
ignoring the point at issue and throwing up superfluous and
irrelevant smoke screens.
Her only relevant comments deal with what she now calls a
"recommendation" and an "OPINION":
>>>"I choose Skip's site as a primary recommendation
because I think his site has more valuable information for
the broad spectrum of players all over the U.S. His
full-pay chart is the first one I go to when we are going
to another gambling venue"
"I feel Skip's website gives most people good value for
their money. That's my OPINION."<<<
I don't believe anyone would accept this watered down
recommendation and OPINION as an adequate explanation for
her "best site, by far" assertion.
I find it ironic that her business associate Jim Wolf wrote
the following on frugalvp@yahoogroups.com this past
Tuesday.
>>>"Hi, and I sincerely welcome you to the Frugal Video
Poker forum!!!
My first suggestion is to join a better forum for general
VP information... http://groups.yahoo.com/group/vpFREE/
...is great because it's free and well managed.
http://www.vphomepage.com/ ...is also great and well
managed, and has a bunch of neat stuff, but it costs a
couple of bucks to join."<<<
As to Jean's smoke screens -
I don't believe Jean is too busy to read emails on this
site.
I don't believe Jean has been neutral and fair about
vp-mail.
I don't believe that Jean is very familiar with many of
vpfree's features.
I don't believe that Jean posts more on vp-mail, or that
her vp-mail posts have better content. Most of Jean's posts
are philosophical or promotional in nature, with very
little casino specific comment that is of value to anyone.
I enjoy Jean Scott posts.
I believe that she is loyal to Skip Hughes and I believe
that she promotes and gets promoted by her small circle of
gambling writers.
I don't have anything against "A worker is worthy of his
due" and don't believe that most other people do either.
I don't understand what Jean is talking about when she says
she's disappointed that people didn't give her a chance to
explain.
I believe that the incorrect url for vpfree was an honest
mistake.
Believe it or not, I'm a Jean Scott fan, and I believe that
MFG is a very good book and that Jean Scott is a great
asset and ambassador for video poker. It and she could be
even better.
