VPfree member in hospital

Joe Pucek, a long-time list member and friend called me tonight. He went
into emergency surgery early this morning at Sunrise Hospital in LV, after
feeling ill on his plane ride in from Texas last night. Something with his
colon. There is a dinner planned for next Thursday, August 2 at the Outback
Steakhouse (Casino Royale) open to all with Joe and hopefully, he will keep
that as scheduled, but in the meantime, Joe is out of surgery and recovering
but asked me to send a note to the list. He asked for any visitors to stop
by at Sunrise and say "Hi." His wife is back in Texas and being in the
hospital for him all alone can be a little "lonely!" I don't have any more
details, but stop by Sunrise and say "hi" to Joe if you can. Prayers for a
quick recovery are always good too!

Regards,

Scot

hope you get well joe!

I just returned from Sunrise hospital and a visit with Joe. He is in
pretty good spirits considering the situation. Joe plans to get out
of the hospital by Sunday. However, after listening to his Dr, I
think that will be a best case scenerio. The surgery went well but
recovery from this type of surgery can take time. To cap off the
situation Joe told me that tomorrow is his birthday. If any of you
could stop by and see him it would be greatly appreciated. He is
determined to have the dinner on August 2nd and knowing Joe, my guess
is that it will happen.

Which Sunrise Hospital is he in? The Yellow Pages
list several variations. I want to send him a card.

I just phoned Joe and he seemed in good spirits - even
gave me a scouting report on Fitzgeralds Tunica. Here's
his current address (he's in the trauma unit and has been
in several rooms so far):

Joe Pucek c/o Sunrise Hospital
3186 South Maryland Parkway
Trauma Unit Room East 233
Las Vegas NV 89109
702-731-8000

Joe says to feel free to call him 24/7 on his cell phone
(214-325-2410).

Thank you.

Last week I went to Shreveport for three days. Wednesday, playing 100 play NSUD for nickels at the Horseshoe I was dealt the ducks. How much does 100,000 nickels weigh anyway? I think that would be 5000 rolls? Fortunately, I did not have to overload my trunk, they paid me in Benjamins.

Congratulations Joe!

Since each nickle is 4.5 grams, you would have had to carry 992
pounds of nickles home somehow.

Somehow I could see Joe walking out with all of those nickels.
