Although the 2008 HOF inductee received more than half of the
votes, a 50% requirement is probably too high for elections
which include many nominees with impressive credentials.
Determining the best election procedure that will only induct
worthy, deserving nominees has been, and will probably continue
to be, a work in progress and all suggestions will be seriously
considered.
Here are two changes that we're making now:
1. The next election will be in 2012 and every four years
thereafter.
2. A nominee must get more than 33% of the votes cast in order to
be inducted. If no one receives more than 33% of the votes cast,
there will not be an inductee that year.
