The coverage may be excellent, but the group management is not.

Three days after I sent a request to join, I am still "awaiting

Yep, I gave up several years ago myself. I could never figure out how to do
the secret handshake. It wasn't important to me since I never plan to be on
that side of the Mississippi River ever again in my lifetime...

...This is a SOP for the group. Must be patient to join that club.

my experience was similar. maybe there is a need for a vpfree_ac group?

How low will we go? Check out Yahoo! Messenger’s low PC-to-Phone call rates.

Currently I have no interest in the AC group, I might in the future.
My reason for suggesting a vpfree_ac site is that I am not able to
access the other one if I so wanted to, rendering it useless to me and
others with the same problem. Agree that the administration of said
group is "served cold".

I have been waiting for about ten days!

Any members here who have access to the AC group? Please give a
gentle whack to the administrator.

A Myth

Reminds me of the sensitivity of the mule.

A guy happened to see a farmer beating up on a mule to get it to do
something. So he goes to him and says, the mule is a sensitive
animal, and that one should be a lot more gentle with it.

The farmer says, oh yeah, show me how to do it then.

Thereupon this guy takes a two-by-four and whacks the mule. The
farmer exclaims, but you said you have to be gentle with it.

And the guy says, yes, but first you have to get its attention!

Not as much as ACVPP. For example, ezboard has a number of subject areas including VP. However, the ACVPP group is by far the best re tips on AC comps, cashback, machine changes/MIAs, etc. I occassionally browse the other sites but check ACVPP daily.
