When Bob Dancer wrote the following, I was more than a little
surprised.
"If we thought Dan [Paymar] was qualified to do this kind of work, we'd
offer him some money to assist us. But we don't, so we won't."
On the surface, it sounds like Dan Paymar is some sort of
unqualified dolt. He is very far from that.
Then I realized that Bob Dancer really considers himself to be THE
expert on video poker and plainly will never hire Dan to assist with
problems in that area of gaming.
The remark could be seen as more on a jovial level that Bob,
naturally enough, considers himself the top expert and now superior to
Dan.
Well, at least that was what I was hoping the meaning was. It
certainly seemed to make more sense than calling Dan a country
bumpkin. Surely Bob Dancer isn't that stupid.
Anyway, I continued reading and came upon some discourse about
ethics. I found myself ingesting absolute drivel from the computer keys
of Bob Dancer, which I quote below.
"One definition of ethics might include fraudulently pretending to be
something you're not. And that's not me. I tell you who I am. You might
now like it, but I'm honest about who I am."
Bob, you sound like a complete fool to anyone who knows you.
First, let's clear the air by telling everyone that you name is not Bob
Dancer. It's Bill Granoff.
So by your own definition, you're unethical by using a fictitious
name.
Your entire sentence, "I tell you who I am" is the writing of a
thoughtless moron.
How can you be so stupid as to not realize that the beginning of
ethical behavior involves using your own name? To my knowledge, Dan
Paymar is Dan's real name.
Of course, you're not alone in the false name business so you can
probably hold your head high when you are with Jean Scott (Merla
McCormick), Anthony Curtis (Kurt Flowers), Arnold Snyder (Tom
Hover), and a few others.
I have no doubt all of the above individuals believe (and will
claim) they have some terrific reasons for the deception they are
practicing. Maybe their vanity whispers that they will be inundated by
their fans if they don't remain hidden. But I very seriously doubt it.
Bob, the next time you write an article for some publication, try to
remember how shallow your ethics are as you lie about your own name.
Sincerely,
Charles W. Lund (aka Charles W. Lund)
