vpFREE Administrative Change

Effective immediately, I am the vpFREE administrator, again.

I'll be using the email address "vpFREEadmin @ Cox.net"
(remove the spaces) and "vpFREE_3" as my Yahoo ID.

Also, I don't plan on doing much moderating unless it's
needed to prevent major disruptions.

Many thanks to the anonymous vpFREE Administrator who
served as administrator since September 2005.

Many thanks to the moderators/administrators past, present & future who maintain these groups and provide us all with such a valuable (and fun) resource. If there is any justice in this world, they should each get at least one extra Royal during their playing career.

Listen Tom, how about getting someone else to be the administrator which will free you to go back to being the data page moderator? The VPFree2 database page is now dreadful. For example they don't even have a data base for the M resort which is now open for more than a week. Not to mention none of the other important info that your page contained( and was in larger print ! ). You had everything up to the minute which I must admit has spoiled me( and I'm sure others ). Anyway welcome back !

Larry,
Here is my take on the new and definitely not improved vpFREE2
database-hlol. (That would be heartily laughing out loud) I surfed over
there shortly after their debut and put in a practice search on a game that
I suspected had limited availability here in Vegas. For personal reasons, I
will not name the game. Sure enough, no results for the paytable I wanted,
but since there was an inferior paytable of the game available at a local
casino that I was sure of, and they did not show that result either, I sent
them an email about it. To this day, the inferior game search still will
show no result. Speaking of results, when you do perform a search, there is
this handy drop down box that shows some of the complete paytables of the
game that you are looking for. On what is known as the full pay version of
a game, the one most of us would be searching for, instead of the paytayble,
they just stick in (FP). Wow, how handy. On 3-1-09 I noticed a picture
post on vpFREE where mikeymic had hit an NSU multistrike royal at the Spa
Resort in Palm Springs. Since I had scouted that casino a couple of times
when visiting my bil, who lives there, and did not see this, and it was not
in the vpFREE database, I assumed that the new 2 people would put it in.
Well, I looked today, and after choosing advanced, and keying in everything
except the blood type and astrological sign of the casino owner, it didn't
even show that the Spa Resort existed. My plan B was to enter it on the
standard page, pick west region, pick game, pick paytable, pick
denomination, pick how many lines, pick multistrike, Christ by now I forgot
what the hell I was looking for. Anyway, vpPATHETIC2 shows this game not to
exist in the west region. As mikeymic seems to be a knowledgeable poster, I
would think that when the person or persons at vpWHOMEVER that certainly
must monitor vpFREE saw the same picture post that I did, they might shoot
the mikester a note asking him if he were sure the paytable was NSUD. I
don't know or care if they did or not. You would think that they might make
the effort, as if the NSU multistrike is actually there, it would be the
best return game in the casino, but what do I know. I have no idea who the
owners of the new site are. I did try a search and it appears that they
paid the extra fee with their domain name that hides that info. from
snoopers. The only thing that is shown is their host, DreamHost Web Hosting
from Brea, Ca., probably not a hotbed of video poker. Now I also really
have no interest in how many contestants there are in the musical chair
pseudo revolving administrator door game that appears to be in progress, and
I think I can safely say that more than 99% of the vpFREE membership would
state the same, but this fallacious mystery has been going on for years.
None of this matters personally to me, as my concern as a member is strictly
accurate updated information that I can access quickly. One thing that does
bother me. I think it was administrator number 17 or 18 who had the
disclaimer that free # 1 would always be non profit, but free #2 has no such
claim. Now, don't get your knickers in a twist, I have read here that free
# 1 has no interest in free #2. For those that have visited free 2, you may
have noticed a myriad of google gambling related ads that I am quite sure
the free 2 site owner is paid to host. Rest assured that they also receive
a click thru fee every time one of you click on it. Nothing wrong with
capitalism, I'm certainly all for that. What is wrong, whether vpFREE2 is
no charge to members or not, if their current level of proficiency of
operation and design of the site is acceptable to their owners, then they
deserve the fate of any new business that launches with such poor efforts, a
quick and painless disappearance. The one craw sticker that I do have is
this. You want to make the ad money and the click thru fees for doing
marginal work. You have solicited members to provide you with the grunt
work of information gathering and updates, remuneration free. Now, those of
you who have visited the site have probably noticed the yellow donate
button. I have, and clicked on it to see what it was. What the site owner,
without really telling you, is basically saying is that he is going to make
the ad money but since it will not be enough for the monumental effort that
he is putting forth, he wants your donations to subsidize (maybe Barack owns
the site) his income. In my opinion, this kind of thinking takes some real
brass cohones. I would welcome other's impressions of the new site.
