Your are incorrect.

You have stated ONE of the qualifications that Publisher's Weekly
applies before even considering whether to review a book, or not.
Most authors and publishers would like to have their books reviewed
by PW, but PW is extremely selective and independently decides, on
their own, the limited number that they review.

<<<< No seal of approval is implied. >>>>

I meant, and should have said that 'It is an honor as well as a
"seal of approval" to write a book that is FAVORABLY reviewed
by this highly regarded literary publication ...'

<<< "to write a book that is reviewed by this highly regarded literary
publication - that such a high brow magazine chose a video
poker book at all is surprising."<<<

<<<< I guess to someone that limits their reading to video poker
strategy cards and casino promotional mailings, Publishers Weekly
would seem "High Brow". >>>>

If you're speaking of your personal limitations, it explains a lot.

However, High Brow in this instance refers to their reviewing
choices and their circulation which as of 2004 was reported to
be "approximately 25,000, including 6000 publishers; 5500
public libraries and public library systems; 3800 booksellers;
1600 authors and writers; 1500 college and university libraries;
950 print, film and broad media; and 750 literary and rights
agents, among others".

<<<< Its nice that the vpfree_admin has taken on the additional
title of Linda Boyd's Flack. I just hope Bob, Jean, Dan et al don't
get too jealous. >>>>

Exposure to products that may be helpful and of interest to
vpFREE's members is an ongoing feature/service which I
believe is welcomed and appreciated by most members.

Moot points--all of them. The only review that counts is the upcoming
one in Gaming Today. I was mailed a copy today from GBC, and the
strenfth of Linda's efforts will be revealed soon..

Whatever that is supposed to mean. BTW, while checking vpfree
archives, prior to and post deletion/ editing of messages that
identified the original vpfree administer's "real name" I figured out
the true identity of the current vpfree administrator----big deal,
who cares, but evidently the admin cares.

PW is a trade publication NOT a "highly regarded literary
publication" any assertion to the contrary demonstrates the writer's
total lack of exposure to fine literature or any sophistication with
regard to literary writings. Its never too late to learn, the first
step is to acknowledge your own Ignorance.

Glad to see when you lose your argument you resort to grade school
tactics...perhaps your next retort should be "your mother wears army
boots"

Mavin:
Real high brow publications are known for very small and select
readership, the very fact that you are posing relatively large
circulation numbers to support your assertion, demonstrates your
complete lack of appreciation of what is a "high brow" literary
publication.

Mavin to Admin:

I'm sure you have dreams of continuing this discussion ad infinitum,
but I am finished with this topic...good riddance.
