VP Superstitious (THE "Key to Success"???)

In 1999, I went to the wedding of a friend/co-worker at Lake Tahoe.
Attending were also several other friends/co-workers, several of whom
were Muslims from the country of Senegal. One of them was a
beautiful woman who always wore flamboyant African clothing, but
never any traditional muslim headscarves- until she went into the
casino there. She felt it necessary then to cover her head AND say
long prayers to Allah before every spin of the slot machine, because
of the "sin" she felt she was committing.

She garnered quite a few stares from people at neighboring machines,
but when she started winning (!), she became adopted as a sort of
good luck charm for all around her! Her luck held out through the
weekend.

Should I take a lesson for my upcoming trip to Vegas?

This did not lead to a long relationship.
