VP Software Programs - I goofed

I broke one of my own rules when I posted recently and that is to never get personal on a public forum. I am sorry for airing dirty linen. I have deleted several of my recent posts. You would think at 69 I would be wise enough to know you never want/need to get defensive. By then if you don't have a good reputation that doesn't need defending you never will!

So.....here is the post I SHOULD have written. I will stick to the subject of VP Software programs, which is a valid topic for this public forum.

First - and again, I want to go on record that I support ALL VP software programs on the market
and I have most of them installed on my computer. Although most of them
have the same basic features, each has unique functions which make them
valuable. In the resource section of my recent book, "Frugal Video Poker,"
I listed all that were on the market at the time it was published. And in
new editions, I will add any new programs that I feel are valuable. Here are some comments about all of the current programs on the market that show some of the unique features of each one.

Dancer's Video Poker for Winners - I use this to practice Multi-Strike.

Paymar's Optimum VP - This is the only VP program that runs natively on both Macintosh and Windows.

Dunbar's Risk Analyzer for VP - Not a tutor or strategy generator, but super for bankroll calculations.

Wolf VP - I haven't seen this one but I know Jim Wolf is a good programmer
and the list of features on his Web site shows some new valuable features, ones that will especially appeal to advanced players.

The Frugal VP software program - The one I use most frequently because it does almost all the things that I need to do.

Some VP enthusiasts will have every one of these programs. They want to be
as prepared as possible by having every tool available in their VP workbox.
But most players will probably just want one or two, especially if they
aren't particularly "techie."

That brings me to the subject of why Frugal Video Poker has been the program
that has helped thousands of VP players. It not only serves as a tutor when
you play but it also generates strategy charts - the two functions that are
basic needs. It has a valuable
calculator for analyzing slot club benefits and many other extra functions,
including the capability to figure the value of quad bonuses.

But one of the prime benefits is that this program is the only one that has
a hard copy "manual," my same-named book, "Frugal Video Poker." The two
were created to go together. The book will give you instructions on how to
use the software more expertly. The software will give you the means to
practice the steps I outline, chapter by chapter, to become a skilled
player.

Just a note about the sale of the FVP software so there should be no hesitation about buying it. I always give credit to Jim Wolf for developing this great program. He needed someone to help with marketing this product so I agreed to give it my trademark name and give it the publicity it needed to be successful. And he and I worked together for several years, with him running the Web site and taking care of orders while I did the marketing and publicity. After some time, Jim decided to go out on his own with a new VP software program but he said that the FVP program would always be mine. Therefore, I continue to sell FVP while Jim sells his new product, Wolf VP.

Jim's new program is brand new, not just an update of FVP.
FVP stands alone in being a robust and full-featured
program. It does not need updates. Thousands of satisfied customers are using it today. And many more will want to buy it, especially when they find that the "FVP" book will help them get a lot more out of the program.

Many people have already successfully installed FVP on new computers with Vista. A
few have had problems, and RGE and I have worked with them until the problem is solved.

Peace to all!

Please continue to respond to Bob Dancer. Right now it's not so ugly, but with the proper
insults and retorts we'll all get to see the full pay version (with name-calling, physical
threats, and escalation to other VP gurus). Please Jean, other than smoking bands and pay
table cutbacks on the strip, you and Bob the only action on the board.

I was one of those having problems installing FVP and VPW on a new
computer. Both Jean Scott and Bob Dancer's support group were fantastic
in their help. Jean Scott, as always, is one of the classiest,
friendliest and most helpful people I have had the pleasure of meeting.
