Agreed - to call them "one man's opinion" is very disingenuous.

Why is "one man's opinion" taken as a derogatory statement. I would
much rather have "one man's opinion" say Frank Rich's opinion of a
play or movie than some wide-ranging survey or listing box office
receipts. Most opinion surveys end up as a mish-mash, with a tendency
towards the middle...not that helpful.
