VP report from London

There isn't any.

Of course, I can't be SURE that there wasn't, since I doubt they
would have them in the British Museum, Royal Albert Hall,
Westminster Abbey, etc.

This spur-of-the-moment trip was brought about by two things:

1. Low British Airways airfares on Oct/Nov trips

2. A dealt royal on triple-play $1 NSUD at the Palms (CONGRATS
jackie!!).

A good time was had by all. If you've never been to London, GO. It's
impossible to run out of things to do no matter what your interests
are. It was expensive, but we saved $$$ by buying tube/bus passes
and eating a lot of takeaway and pub food.

OK, I'm back to annoy everybody now :slight_smile:

There is not a single decent VP machine ANYWHERE

outside the USA. I have been in many casinos in Europe, Great
Britain, Asia, and Australia, and have never been tempted to
contribute to their economy by playing vp.

On our first trip to London, over 35 years ago, we visited
the "Charlie Chester" Casino. It was BJ (BAD rules) and European
roulette only. No other gambling games at all. It was required
to "register" at the casino 2 days PRIOR to gaining entrance. An
entrance fee was charged for admittance. Suit jacket & tie were
required for men and dresses (NO pants) for women.
The gambling was stuffy, smoky, and not a bit of fun. We were very
disappointed, having anxiously waited for 2 days for the experience.
We have eschewed British gambling ever since.

   I agree completely !. We took our first

trip to London in 1969, and have been back 9 times since then
(including side trips to Wales, Ireland, Scotland & the British
countryside) It's a marvelous traveling experience. In fact we're
headed there again tomorrow, and then, a few days later, to Bologna,
Italy for 2 weeks.

35695, 35714, & 35717, posted while you were overseas.

I took a couple of nice hits on my personal email for suggesting
that you were missed. That's O.K. I still believe in Freedom of
Speech.

BTW, EVERYBODY TAKE A FEW MINUTES FROM VP TODAY AND GET OUT AND
VOTE!!

Anyway, I'm glad you're back and hope you score some more Royals
soon.

Well, perhaps, but when you win, they pay you in those funny low-
octane dollar thingys that are only 70% as powerful as REAL dollars
and until recently, had the picture of SOMEBODY ELSE'S QUEEN on
them. What was up with that? (Imagine our dollar with a picture of,
say, Charles de Gaulle on it.)

However, I understand that the "loonie", as the new dollar is
called, can be exchanged for all sorts of cool medications that are
over-the-counter in Canada but prescription in the US. Therefore, I
suggest to Canadian casino operators that they eliminate a step, and
install machines that pay off directly in Zanax or whatever.

I remember my mother used to ask me, whenever I crossed the border,
to get her this analgesic-anti-inflammatory stuff called 3-2-1. She
suffered from back pain all her life, and apparently this stuff
contained codeine as well as other pain meds, giving it about triple
the punch of Advil/Tylenol/etc., without knocking you for a loop the
way her prescription medication did.

Just some minor factual updates.
1. The Canadian dollar is now worth 81 percent of a US dollar , and No tax forms on Canadian Casino winnings.
2. The Queen is considered to be the Queen of Canada, when in Canada, not the Queen of England.
3. The best Video Poker in Canada is Full pay Pick-Em, not as good as a lot of places in Nevada, but competitive with the rest of the country.

Hi David,

You are SO RIGHT!! I TOTALLY forgot about Canada. I guess I don't
really think of Canada as a "foreign country". Just our Northern
suburbs!

Anyway, I apologize profusely to our good neighbor, and acknowledge
that the Canadian VP is no worse than plenty of the US non-Nevada VP.

P.S. If Mexico has VP (which I doubt) I forgot about our Southern
neighbors as well! The phrase I should have used, I guess, is that

I have no idea. Her name is on the coins but not on the bills, not on the old $20 bill either.

I have never found playable vp outside of the "Americas".

I recall having read recently (no idea where) an article claiming
that Mexico has thousands of casinos, all of them illegal. Until I
read that, I wasn't aware that Mexico has a strong American Legion
presence. :slight_smile:
