VP Puzzle - Explain this credit discrepancy

Not entirely true. I believe this may be a machine-configurable option,
as I have hit a $1250 jackpot on more than one machine in different
casinos where the credits counted/accumulated up to $1250 in the normal
manner, and *then* the machine locked up.

I have not been fortunate enough to hit a $20K royal on one of these
machines, but I will report back when I do

credits don't accumulate or count up in the traditional sense when you
hit a royal at $1.

when you hit a "taxable event," the machine locks up and the credit
meter has 4000 credits (or dollars) added to it all at once.

I was dealt a RF on a nickle 100 line machine - $20,000. It locked up
immediately.

Tips to keep private email addresses out of the hands of spammers:
1. Avoid giving your or anyone else's email address to any web site.
2. Instead of forwarding email, cut and paste the text or edit to remove

3. For group emails, use the "bcc:" (Blind Carbon Copy) field instead of
"to:".
(Put your own address or a fake address in the "to:" field).
4. Want to do more? Attach this text as a custom signature to the bottom of
all your outgoing email.

To clarify, I have also hit $20K royals where the machine did lock up
instantly. However that does not rule out that on the other machines I
described, that it doesn't count up one credit at a time before locking up.

I've had a machine lockup when I hit a $425 progressive dime royal.
It's just whatever the machine it set to do.
Still, it doesn't explain the extra $30...

I have played the $5 machines at ARIA on multiple trips. Every taxable jackpot I hit slowly accumulated credits up to the amount of the payout.

I was actually excited the very first time (4 Threes for $2000) because I thought the machine "goofed" by not immediately locking up.

The thought of a sweet non-taxable 2K was short-lived, however, as the machine did indeed lock up after the 400th credit was added.

Same thing happened to me at the Aria on a $ RF. At first I wondered what was going on when the machine didn't immediately lock up?
I guess it must be part of the program that IGT is using on their newest machines.
