vp pros and amateurs

Michael Boutot made a couple of comments about the vp pro vs amateur.

No, I wouldn't think yelling during a putt is appropriate. That's way different that sharing the location of a good golf course. Yelling during a putt doesn't do anyone any good. Sharing the inof on a good golf course helps those I tell. If Tiger and I are battling for the same tee time, I wouldn't bow to him because he's a pro and I'm not.

MB wrote In table Poker there are plenty of pros & hobbyists going for the same prizes in tournies. Tough luck wished on them as well?

Not tough luck but we are both competing for the same prize so I will play my hardest to get that prize. Recently , a couple of card rooms closed in the midwest and the casinos decided to give away the sizable bad beat jackpots in an hourly drawing. It worked out to about $40 an hour in prize EV. This was certainly a big enough bonus to attract professional gamblers. Should I avoid this play because I'm not a pro? Should I not let my friends know about it because a pro might not get a seat?

I don't look down at a professional video poker player but I also don't owe them anything. If I found a dollar FPDW machine with .5 cb , I'd give it a whirl. If you came up to me while I was playing and said "Excuse me, I'm a pro and you're not. Please leave so I can earn my living" I'd have to turn you down.

The amateur gambler goes to a casino to give up one."

There may be several amateurs reading here that would test that aphorism.
