Back when I was traveling the country, bowling in tournaments, Vegas stops
were two or three times a year.. If things weren't going so well, we'd park
ourselves in the Keno lounge, get a $1 ticket so that it'd look like we were
gambling, flag down a waitress, and get drinks. Then we'd ask her to just bring
us another round every time she came through, no need to stop and ask. The
waitresses never seemed to mind, it would save them a second trip because they'd
already have the order. For 50 cents per drink (back then that was an OK
tip), we could get hammered stupid for next to nothing.

Keno was a
laid back game that one could relax in the Keno pit for a few dollars
an hour. I can remember playing Keno at IP; before electronic tracking.
If you got to know a boss or two in pit, a dollar or two bet when they
watched you and 25 cent play other times would net you comp rooms a
meal and free drinks all day.
