We are taking this ship from New Orleans on Feb. 26. I am assuming the VP is bad - which is good with us - we take vacations to get away from VP!!!! Anyone else going on that cruise by any chance?
Would appreciate information from anyone who has been on this ship or who has visited Costa Maya or Cozumel. We are interested in seeing some Mayan ruins and need some recommendations about which ones might be the most interesting. We hate the shore excursions offered by the cruise line - herded in buses full of pokey whiny senior citizens and always very expensive. Has anyone had experience in doing ruins in either of these place "on your own." Like 4-6 people hiring a cab at the dock for a private tour or even renting a vehicle for the day? We have done these things many times in other ports - but don't know about the feasibility or safety doing them in these ports.
