My friend Eddie pointed out a glaring omission from my VP/gambling
playlist: Stuck In The Middle, by Dealer's Wheel (jokers to the left of
me, jokers to the right ...) Maybe I overlooked it because full pay
KBJW is a lot harder to find than it used to be.
VP Music: A Late Add
playlist: Stuck In The Middle, by Dealer's Wheel (jokers to the left of
me, jokers to the right ...)
The group was Stealers Wheel from Scotland. When the song was released by a
totally unknown group, many thought that it was the Beatles, pulling a hoax.

Stuck in the Middle With You uses a lot of gambling metaphors. Gerry
Rafferty, the band's songwriter, had a short solo career after the
band broke up.
Another song where gambling is a big part of the song/story (hope this
wasn't covered by someone else yet) is Bob Dylan's "Lily, Rosemary and
the Jack of Hearts." The song covers a bank burglary, poker games (set
up by the Jack of Hearts, probably to keep an eye on things during the
burglary), fooling around, murder, and a hanging, all happening at once.

Don't think anyone mentioned Sting's "Shape of My Heart" yet. Granted
it's a live poker song, not VP, but close enough.
Not really one of my favorite songs, but it does close out one of my
favorite movies, "The Professional" (called "Leon" outside of the
states), so it gets some bonus points.
