There definately can be anomalies in the RNG, given they are driven by
silicon solid state and other components.
I've worked repairing these components.They can be affected by
temperature,hot or cold.Mostly hot,and be intermittent.Each component has
charecteristics that can be affected by heat, humidity, or atmospheric
pressures.
