Does any enlightened soul know what a VP machine cost the casino and
what becomes of them after they become old or obsolete?
I'm far from an enlightened soul, but there are always at least a dozen used video poker machines for sale on ebay. Just go to www.ebay.com and do a search for "video poker machine". It seems that there are lots of rules regarding the sale of VP machines. Most of the ebay sellers state that their machines have been permanently altered to only accept tokens, and that there are only certain states where these machines can be shipped to. Of course there's all sorts of software available online to turn most any personal computer into a video poker machine. I can only hope my Powerbook doesn't get seized by some overeager NJ gaming commission officer one of these days.
