VP Machines looser depending on denomination played?

Yes, the same strategy disclaimer should be in there, however I never
thought there would be strategy changes from 9/6 Jacks to 8/5 Jacks.
The changes must be very low value changes however. A person would
have to be a perfectionist to learn these changes. There are some
changes playing 9/6 Jacks vs. 8/5 bonus poker because of the enhanced
quad values to A,2,3,4. In reading 5-cards wrong strategy table
playing 9/6 Jack strategy on 8/5 BP will yield only a loss of 0.01%.
The loss from 9/6 Jacks to 8/5 Jacks would have to be much much
lower. I am guessing 0.005% It is interesting that there would be a
difference at all.

Five Card's site is quite useful. It costs you less than .01% going from 9/6
Jacks to 8/5 or even 6/5, using 9/6 strategy.

Most of us will have strategy error thresholds far higher than .01%. But the
concept that there is just one unique/computer perfect strategy solely based
on the given paytable should not be overlooked. I use 9/6 Jacks strategy to
play 8/5 Bonus myself.

Playing DB 10/7/5 or full pay All American really enhances the value of
flushes and straights (SFs for AA). Hopefully the majority of VP players will
alter their strategy to capture most of the added value. Heck, even Bob Dancer's
strategy card for DB has four levels of precision.

But back to the original thought about going from 9/6 to 8/5. It is true
some of the quads pay better in Bonus 8/5, but it really is the difference in the
value of straights and flushes that influence strategy changes, not the quads.

If the quad does get high enough, like Aces in DB 9/7/5 or WHA 9/5 (or even
more exotics) then you do save a pair of Aces over two pair, or AAA over a full
house, as a major strategy change. But these games are also influenced by
the diminished value for two pair.

Heck I have a hard enough time remembering if I am playing a Wild Card game
instead of a Jacks or Better game...my error threshold. CB and EW used to have
Jacks 9/6 and NSUD in all the bartops until Marnell showed-up. That used to
get me into trouble if I switched around games. Now it is just Bonus 8/5 in
these bartops as the only playable game, which probably has helped my EV.

Thanks for your responses guys. I sorta thought that hitting that quad shortly after
switching to dollars from quarters was just plain luck. I kinda forgot about the RNG.

I will usually try to take a pot shot on every visit. In 2002, I hit
aces on BP on a $5 vp (I was going to play just 4 hands) In 2003 my
wife my wife played through $50 on the dollars and was dealt a royal at
the Belle. I hit a dollar royal earlier this year in Reno on a short
move up in denomination try. I play mostly quarters. You just never
know what can happen.

Thanks for your responses guys. I sorta thought that hitting that
