VP in Washington state or Oregon

The only VP games in the Northwest are in Indian casinos. Jacks of Better machines are 8/5 with a bonus if you match the last card on the right. I haven't seen a 9/6 machine yet. Can anyone recommend a casino for VP in Washington or Oregon? thanks.

Spirit Mountain Casino in Oregon has 9/6 JOB progressives. Also, if the progressive gets high enough it's worth playing the 9/5 progressives there also. BTW...the two I mentioned aren't linked.

I am not so sure the ones in the state of Washington are legit. Someone else can correct me, but I thought they were Class-2 lottery-type junk.

Although I know the ones in Oregon are good!

AFAIK, both Washington and Oregon are Video Lottery Terminals.

Linda Boyd's "Video Poker Edge" may be dated now, but is truly enlightening regarding which states have real video poker vs. VLTs. VPfree links has a number of good links to state gaming commissions.

I believe you can test this by throwing away dealt winning hands, and if you get back at least what you threw away (or better) on the draw it's probably a VLT.

The state run machines are VLTs. The machines in the Indian casinos are not.

So are you saying that the VP machines in Indian casinos (Red Wind, Lucky Eagle and Little Creek) near Olympia, WA, are legit and not VLTs? I don't know if I could tell the difference just looking at them.

Indian casinos do not have VLTs; they have either Class II gaming or Class III gaming. Class III gaming is a random deal; Class II gaming is not a random deal and the game is based on the results of a bingo game -- usually you will see a very small card/device on the front of the machine that is a bingo game being played very quickly and that determines your final outcome.

VLTs may be a random deal or a non-random deal; it depends upon the jurisdiction that they are in. Washington State is not a random deal based upon the information presented.

I apologize for my unclear message. I was referring to Oregon Casinos only, not WA. I have no experience with WA gaming rules except for the very occasion visit while driving through.
