VP in Vegas versus VP in Illinois

I live in Joliet so I play a lot of 99% VP at the Empress. I have
traveled to Vegas four times for less than four days at a time. Each
trip to Vegas has resulted in at least one royal. At home I play
upwards of eight hours per week in Illinois and I have not had a Royal
in two years. In addition, I have not had a set of deuces on NSU in
over a year at the Empress even through I play this game at least 50%
of the time. Statistically does this make sense? I realize that I am
extremely lucky in Vegas, but I am beginning to think that the Empress
machines are unfair. I have spoken to other players that report the
same observation at the Empress Joliet. I have also noticed that any
jackpots (Royals, 4 deuces, 4 aces, and/or Straight flushes) at the
Empress are most often hit by individuals with a gold card or higher
tier level card in the machine.

What is going on?

Sincerely,
Tabrc2002

I've been going to Laughlin NV for ten years and over 500,000 hands played.
I finally got my first RF there last weekend.

I've played at the Isle of Capri in Bettendorf IA twice (total of 12
hours) and got a RF each time, one of them dealt!
When I go there in a couple of weeks I think I'll play Pickem.

Although it sounded like a joking tone of voice about the Pick 'Em in
your message, I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news Dennis, but when
they rearranged the lower level at IOC Bettendorf recently, they
removed all of the GameMakers (which had the 25c FP Pick 'Em). I
just updated the database for it last night - sorry it took so long
to do so.

I'd advise you cross the river instead

Thanks for the warning. So where would you suggest playing? Jumer's?
We play only 25c and 5c denominations. Is the USA Poker gone too? I
think that was in the same machine.

We visit the family back in Illinois every year. Then we usually go
with them to Par-A-Dice in Peoria or IOC Bettendorf. We realize that
the vp paytables are poor there but need to be accommodating and just
play for fun. The relatives only play slots. :frowning:

Yes, I was making a joke about my two Royals at IOC. My wife also got a
RF on one of the two visits. With our 3 RFs in two short trips, it
seems like it would be a snap to get a Pickem Royal there.

I stopped in at the Isle recently --- couldn't find any Pick'em. Where
is it located?
