Where is the best place to get your foot wet downtown?
Trying something to change the luck.
Thanks,
VP in Downtown Vegas
Best is realtive based on what you value. For me, I
found quarter 10/7 db at 4 queens or Fitz to meet all
my needs. Less smoke, better food, TITO and nicer
rooms at 4 queens but I win more at the Fitz. Both
places are easy for comps and have what I consider a
good location (i.e. it ain't the El Cortez and no freight
trains wake you up) for downtown. Ask at check in
so you don't face the Freemont street experience
if it matters to you.

Thanks,
I guess it depends what you are looking for. Four Queens, Binions, Fremont, Main Street, El Cortez all have playable VP with reasonable bounce back. My experience is that the Four Queens is about the best of the lot.

Try reserving one of the older rooms, over the garage, at the
El Cortez. I think that you can find one with leaky plumbing.

Thanks,
4Queens has always been my favorite 10/7 DB Progressive both .25 & $1.00 level. Difficult to beat that!

Or you can try the Western. Cheapo Vegas described it as "a bona fide dump." The description hasnt been on their website for a couple of year's. Maybe the hotel threatened to sue or something.

The WESTERN?? I like a good joke every now an then-
even the LVA has reported: during day light hours no less- "abort/abort, danger, danger, Will Robinson do not land"
and I must concur...

What are you people made out of money? There are
several transient hotels downtown that will make
the Western look like the Taj Mahal. Just follow
the homeless guys at dawn.
