Is there any interest in creating a Reno Area Locals (restricted membership)
to keep up with opportunities that pop up?

Clue me in, please. How does restricting membership become
beneficial, and what kind of restrictions would there be?

Perhaps to keep the casino employees from joining and shutting down
the good plays. I play large coin in in LV but still can't join the
Vegas locals because I ain't local. I don't hold a grudge 'cause
it's their ball and their rules.

How do you restrict them from joining? How can any of us really know
what others do for a living, with any degree of certainty, without
divulging more personal information than most people would
comfortably do over the internet? What am I missing?

LVLocals Forum is for locals. Not just all locals. You must be a
serious player to join. It's easy to restrict access as you must
register with a local email address. Here is a link to their regs:

The locals forums require you to swap info. They do not want people
pulling info, milking the good plays and giving nothing back. As a
non local I can appreciate that. I also believe they may be
screening for casino employees to keep the plays alive. If the
applicant can't give good info on a number of casinos BBC and
promotions based on their play they are not welcome. That cuts out a
lot.

Kind of like what goes on here, eh? You have no idea of the vultures
which lurk here, slot card in one hand, torch in the other. At least
some of them end up becoming a rasher or two of bacon when all is said
and done. Take a lot of skill getting a play from someone else,
burning it down and getting backed off in the process.

As for the slots stuff, this isn't blackjack. Different mentality, and
besides, different talent level.

As for the BB info...do your own research, or juice up (sorry, I
meant, "cultivate") a host. I am really big on doing your own
research. Some of my best plays have come this way, and you don't have
to share them with anyone.

Some casinos offer a telephone "bingo hot line" that provides the
levels of the various progressive jackpots. That way a player can find
out without going to the casino bingo hall. Many players decide where
to play by making these calls. It's too bad they don't do this for the
VP progressives ... or maybe some do ... I don't know. Also, I'm
pretty sure the IGT website provides the levels of their progressives
(Megabucks, Wheel of Fortune, etc.).
