But aren't we back to those who have considerable choices and those who don't?? I remember back when the rake for my mid limit red chip games was $2.50.? Now I am resigned to the $4 and $5 rake per hand.? In WI and MN -- that's the norm.? Don't like it, but have no choice IF I want to play poker around here.? My feet walking out the door will not change the event.
So you adapt.
IF I had multiple places to play poker at the limits I like that were available close by, then yes I would play elsewhere for a lower rake.? The choices are limited.
Psychologically ----- you are right in terms of being given a least some measure of respect or consideration.? I do enjoy that.? What do they say about the sweetest words being someone's name?? It is true to me.? I pick nice hotels when traveling so I can enjoy the stay. In casino world and in the "real world".? In casino world having someone acknowledge me, thank me for my play and upgrade my already free room -- I do like it.? I know I am paying some for that "special" treatment, my eyes aren't blind and I am not naive.
Just the darn line pass is worth something when staying at Bellagio and so are the free buffets instead of $25-38/per meal.? Years ago, I spent a lot more money on hotels and airfares than I do now in giving up some "edge".
