I will be playing by myself as my dear hubby is giving me a day off for my birthday on June 29th. How do you save your seat if you don't have a friendly neighbor while you take a bathroom break? Haven't seen this mentioned in any of the VP books I have been reading. Thanks Bev
VP Etiquite Question (Pardon my spelling)
Bev,
Most of my casino time is solo also at the machines. I usually hit the "change" or "service" button on machine which brings a slot attendant over. The slot attendants will usually be willing to watch your machine while you cash out some tickets, hit ATM, or use bathroom. When you return, tip them a buck and they will be very help to have helped.

Well, I think the OFFICIAL way to do it, is call a slot-tech, and have them "reserve" your machine...or you could just tell them, you're going to the bathroom, if they could hold your machine for a minute or two...however, if no one is around my machine, then I'm quite sure no one is going to TAKE my machine, while I use the bathroom...

I'm in this situation most of the time, and have never had a problem
escaping for a couple of minutes. I usually tilt the chair up, if possible.
Some people put an object (ash tray, drink cup, whatever) on the chair if
they can't tilt it. If most of the machines are taken so that there may be
some doubt, I may leave a jacket (no valuables!) if I have one (one you're
ready to lose; I saw one stolen this way). An unfolded napkin or had on the
monitor and a drink in a prominent place also signal a machine in use. Some
people will leave a card in the reader. I no longer do since card / RC theft
has been an issue with a friend. Some people will insert a card from another
casino that they don't value highly. The reader will flash, but that's okay.
Make sure you cash out your ticket. Never depend on a stranger at the next
machine to watch your credits, but you might mention to a friendly looking
neighbor that you'll be right back.
