VP Downgrades - Are Progressives a Solution?

We've been getting post after post, for months, reporting pay
schedules downgrades. It seems to be epidemic. I took the liberty
of submitting an article to Playback that suggests a partial
solution. If casinos insist on downgrading pay schedules, at least
add a progressive jackpot when they do it. That way there would be
at least a chance for a playable game. I may be wrong but I think
casinos, in general, think that any game that MIGHT favor the player
does not make sense. That is simply not true. The return of a
progressive is the sum of the total return + the feed rate/dollar
wagered. It has nothing to do with the level of the progressive
jackpots. I think the casinos hurt themselves by offering only VP
that most knowledgable players will never play. Many of these people
are long-time casino customers, and they do pay attention to pay
schedules.
