The bottom line is if Double-Up was a stand alone game, it would
probably get a fair amount of play. AT 100% EV, it would beat most
games in a casino.
As I recall, a few years back some of the casinos had WAR as a table
game.....didn't last too long as I don't see it anymore...and isn't doubling up just a
version of WAR?
You both turn over one card at a time and whoever has the biggest card

I wouldn't say WAR is threatening Blackjack or Three Card Poker, but
it's still out there. The table was pretty crowded at Mohegan last
month when I was there.

I'm familiar with the kids game, but not 100% familiar with exactly
how the Casinos get their edge (I think it's on the 'ties'), but I'm
sure the game would get even MORE play if it were 100% EV. It gets
more than it deserves at its sub 100% EV.

And again, my comment was not based on the 'excitement' of the game,
but on the math alone. Each person has his own form of gambling
they consider exciting.
