VP DOES MID-AMERICA

Guys,

Just got back from a two-week car trip to San Antonio and back. Hit
14 casinos along the way. I also played a lot of slots here and
there with my wife Delores (lost mostly, as expected) and even lined
up the three symbols on a quarter Haywire machine. All I got was
1600 quarters for the almost impossible win, but it sure was
exciting.

"Hit a slot machine and lights flash, bells ring, people crowd
around, and for a tiny flash of a moment you're a star."
--Barney Vinson

Although I couldn't find some of the vp games listed in the vpFree
Casino DataBase Index (and I did an entire walk-a-round of each one)
in some of the casinos, maybe I just missed them. Here are the
casinos I visited and some data:

"It is your moral duty and obligation to reject any casino who
doesn't offer you a fair game."

1. Argosy Casino-- Alton, MO ( This place looked like a crazed
painter decorated the exterior. 98% and below games only)
2. Chocktaw Casino-- Pocola, OK (A tiny casino next to a gas
station. Quarter 9/7/5 DB)
3. Million Dollar Elm Casino--Sand Springs, OK (dollar 9/6 JB)
4. Isle Of Capri Casino--Lula, MS (all low pay crap) Not too far
from Tunica.I think they're missing an opportunity here to lure some
vp players away from Tunica with some good paying video poker.
5. Tunica, MS Casinos: These casinos are strung out over a five
mile area. A few are grouped together so you can walk from one to
another. Most of these casinos carry the same low-pay GameMaker
machines. Lots of 6/5, 7/5, 8/5 Jacks or Better games as well as
low-pay Aces & Faces games that don't pay ten for the 2-pair, making
them 8/5/4, 9/6/4 DB loser games. Some of the casinos offer free
drinks. I tooked advantage of da offurs mony tymes . Hic!

Hollywood ( The Batmoble and an old Elvis movie race car in
the lobby were really cool. (9/6 JB)
Resort's Tunica (formerly Harrah's) Being renovated. Some
good games like: 9/6 JB, 8/5/4 Deluxe, 9/5/4 DB, 20/9/4/4 Bonus
Deuces. All multi-denominational)
Sam's Town (Quarter 9/6 JB)
Fitzgerald's (Cute Irish-theme decor, but couldn't find any
good games. Probably there? Just didn't find them.)
Gold Strike ( A classy-looking MGM owned property, but not
much to play. 9/7/5 DB)
Horseshoe (Very crowded, very noisy. A crazed slot player's
casino. Nothing to play in vp except losers)
Sheraton (Couldn't find much to play)
Bally's (The usual low-pay suspects)
Grand ( We stayed here. Not much to play but a
5/5/15/25/30/45/250/400/1000/400/4000 DB game at 99%. They do have a
good Italian restaurant though. "La fortuna favorisce il grassetto")

6. Argosy Casino--Lawrenceberg, IN (The quarter machine are all
losers, but If you can afford it, play the dollar progressive bank.
I did for about five hour's and stayed even. The games are 9/6 JB
and 8/5 Bonus, 9/7/5 DB, 8/6/4 Deluxe, 9/5/4/ DDB, 8/5/4 Triple
Bonus)

it was probably worth it."
