Voting for 2003 vpFREE HALL OF FAME inductee - Short Version

Voting to determine the 2003 inductee into the vpFREE VIDEO POKER HALL OF FAME
will take place between 17 JUL and 31 JUL.

Each vpFREE member may cast one vote for one nominee, and can change their
vote at any time during the voting period.

The nominee receiving the most votes will be the 2003 inductee.

The nominees are:

Between now and 17 JUL, additional nominees can be suggested by vpFREE members
(along with suggestees qualifications), and the merits of anyone's favorite

I just checked the list of 2003 nominees for the vpFree Hall of Fame.
It appears that John Kelly is really a narcissistic cartoon turtle.
And all this time I thought he was a real person. What a shock. And I
was thinking of voting for him too.

Me too. Now I don't know whom to vote for. I guess I could vote for myself, but I think it would be best to save such honors for after I am dead. Tom, do you allow dead people to vote?

I just checked the list of 2003 nominees for the vpFree Hall of Fame. It appears that John Kelly is really a narcissistic cartoon turtle. And all this time I thought he was a real person. What a shock. And I was thinking of voting for him too.

While there IS a striking resemblance, I suspect that this is Tom's way of encouraging me to change my mind on the matter of providing a photograph and permission to post it. Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but I can't think of any real reason to want my picture on the internet, and at least two reasons NOT to:

1) Some casinos have effectively banned Bob Dancer and Jean Scott (by eliminating their slot club benefits). I haven't won a million dollars like Bob, but not much point in presenting the casinos an 8x10 glossy.

2) While I'm as gregarious as the next blabberbox, the notion of complete strangers and/or loons walking up behind me and introducing themselves by shouting "HEY! That's LODESTONE!" holds little appeal. (Especially if they had a lot of password problems back when I ran the site.) If you ever wondered how many seriously insane people there are out there, just run a website for a while. YIKES! For example, one guy got worked up into a lather because of my old "Tightwad Transit" listing of free shuttle schedules. I won't repeat the language he used, but he was EXTREMELY upset that not only was I TOO DAMNED TIGHT TO PAY FOR A CAB, but I also half-jokingly referred to myself as "cheap". And let's not even get into the long list of folks who took offense to the RIDICULOUS NOTION that you could BEAT THE CASINOS...

Actually I have used this turtle picture for many years as a stand-in
for "no photo available" situations.

I also use it as my own symbol in a couple of internet venues, and
have personally identified with turtles for a long time.

And, ALL vpFREE members, dead or otherwise, are encouraged
to participate in ALL Polls and Votes. <G>
