Volatility of JOB

Preston and Brian,

ANY game in which you don't hit a royal will erode your bankroll.? Here's a good one for you.? After 40391 hands ( 1 royal flush cycle), you are as likely to hit 0 RFs as you are to hit 1.?

The thing about 9/6 JOB is that even if you play perfectly, you will lose about $20/hour at the 5 play quarter game.? Cashback helps some and so does whatever you value Pantheon Club at ( if you ever get in).? Still, by playing JOB, you can expect to lose money.? Period.

8/5 DDB and you will lose more money.? Period.? For 8/5 DDB, you have to be very, very lucky to come out even over any significant number of hands.? Since you are playing single line instead of 5 play, you are playing much less total money through the machines.? Please don't kid yourself into believing the 8/5 DDB is a 'better' game.? If you want to switch games, go to quarter 16/10 deuces.? Then you at least have the deuces mini jackpot and it pays 3% better than 8/5 DDB.? At 800 hph, it costs you $30 an hour more to play 8/5 DDB than 16/10 deuces.? Is DDB that much fun?

Picked up a booklet at MGM; The House Advantage; A guide to Understanding the Odds.
Don't know if it is available at Greektown, but can get the info at:
  www.americangaming.org
It has the casino advantage of 0.5%-5% for VP and expected lose of $.50-$5,per $100 bet. That is in therory only.
In my case I don't get that much returned, must be a very cold machine when I get there.

As usual I can't argue with the voice of reason, John Z. This is why
casinos are making so much money, gamblers in search of the big hit
are willing to take more chances and not play the odds. This is why
I love playing DDB even at 8/5, (I won't stoop to playing 7/5 DDB
which is the payout on the 5 line quarter machines). Seems like I
see aces quite a bit maybe I'll be known as ace! Good luck to all of
you this weekend, royals to all.
