Hi Martin, Jman, VPFree Admin, etc...

Just got back from Viejas. No changes to Martin's update except a
quick mention that all this construction resulted in dozens of
parking spots being barricaded off thus making ane already less than
favorable parking conditions worse.

Anyway, I want to pass the following along. I had the good fortune
of hitting a quarter royal playiny BP on the (3) 5c/25c (3/5/10
Play) MG/MD on a wall just outside the temporary Pot O' Gold room
(which Martin references below - thanks buddy - lucky machine). I
was up already so I took homeover 1k in profit.

The weirdest thing happenned once I took my ticket up to the cage
for a payout. I hand the cage cashier my ticked and he congratulates
me with a 'Wow, nice payout' or something similar. I say thanks and
tell him the denominations I'd like. He leaves and walks in the back
and tells me that he'll need a supervisor to 'validate' the payout
since it's 'alot of money'. I'm thinking OK, whatever. This really
isn't that much. So I wait and am waiting for a supervisor to come
around and watch him pay me out. Nope. Instead a supervisor comes up
behind me and introduces himself. He says "I need to verify your
winnings'. I look at him thinking 'OK, and what does that mean?. He
then says 'I need you to take me to the machine where you hit this
payout'. Ummm, what? is my first reaction. Second reaction is 'fine,
let's go'. Third reaction is 'what if this amount of moaney was a
culative amount based on smaller wins? what would you do then?' So
ilead him to the machine, he open it, checks past history and see
the royal flush. We then walk back to the cage and I have the
cashier, her supervisor, and this guy all watching up pay me out
$1300 or so. I felt like a damn criminal.

Suffice to say I was very uncomfortable. Sweating a payout of $1300?
What if I had put in $1000 and won 300 by hitting a few 4OAK, then
what? How would he verify?

Weird huh?

I feel you pain. Thunder Valley lets you cash tickets in the ticket
redeeming machines over $1,000 without any problems; however, other
casinos limit the amount you can cash out. You might want to spend
some time to find out what is the highest amount the ticket
redeemers will pay out.

You also have to keep in mind that casinos are a prime source for
crooks to recycle illegal money, such as drug money. Like you said,
they put in small dollar amounts and cash out a big ticket. If the
ticket is in fact a cumulative of many small tickets, they can track
what machines you played, for how long, etc. It's so obvious when
some feeds in small bills ($1's or $5's) in order to get large bills.

Also, when this happens -- the cashier say "Wow or congradulation,"
it's an opportunity to establish yourself as a regular so you won't
be hassled next time. When I was a frequent player, I was known (i
am a good tipper) and well treated so you might want to consider
this.
