For beginner's I always recommend learning the strategy for
Jacks or Better. JB - 1-2-3-4-6-9-25-50-800
You can use this same strategy for Bonus Poker and its many
variants with just a tiny loss of effectiveness.
BP - 1-2-3-4-5-8-(25/40/80)-50-800
This means you can usually find a playable $.25 game
anywhere in town you go, including many of the strip rips.
Just keep in mind that all casinos (even the "good" ones)
have short-pay games. You must be patient, and look for the
(usually well-hidden) playable ones.
The following are improved versions of BP. They ALL have
the same starting paytable: 1-2-3-4-5-8, and the same JB
strategy will serve you well.
Aces and Eights - Circus, Slots-a-Fun
BP - all quads pay 35 - Sahara
BP with progressive RF - Sam's Town (and Luxor?)
Aces$ bonus - many (but don't play 5-7)
Royal Court - Station Casinos
BP - extended quads - Stratosphere
BP with sequential Royal Flush
Aces and Faces Bonus - haven't seen it lately
Double Jackpot Bonus - Laughlin
The variance is quite low. Said another way, they're not
too hard on your bankroll.
