I noticed something this weekend at the Orleans that was rather
educational for me. Since it was double points on Sunday and the
progressives were getting higher, there were several teams of pro's
tieing up the machines and making it difficult for others to play. I
also spoke to a bartender we have become friendly with and he said
it used to be worse when they had 10-7 db at higher denominations.
They would tie up all the seats at the bar all night. My point
being, I am not surprised that casino's are lowering paytables
because of this and I would do the same if it were my business.
Anyway, that's my thoughts as an out of towner

In all actuality it is impossible to draw the line here. Why should people not
take advantage of what exists? It would be silly not to. In the end, the casinos
must make a profit, or all is lost. They (the casinos) have to walk a thin line
also, making the games "good enough" to bring in the people, but not so good
that they lose money.
I know, I know, I know, that at this poiint some will talk about the stupidity of
casino management, not knowing what their machines are doing and
therefore making bad choices of what is out there on the floor. But, in the end,
it is a simple question, i.e., why should the casinos supply a livelihood to the
"pro"?
In my opinion, we always come back to the "hobbyist" who works hard to
improve his/her "game", be entertained, and to spend as little as possible at it.
He/she is not out to make a living but, as I said, to be entertained. I hope that
NSUD and the likes never have to go away. With "comps", there is at least the
theoretical possibility of "breaking even".
It is certainly this challange, i.e., to play correctly and to almost "break even"
that keeps me coming back, even if only to play "(barely) negative"
expectation games. I am sure that most who visit here like the "challange" of
finding those machines with "good" pay tables and to play the to the best of
their ability.
