Video Poker unt Software

I am sure most people here are aware of this software. I came to know
of this only a few days ago.

It is beautifully designed, the cards (three choices) are very
detailed, it has nine games (Aces and Eights, Aces and Faces, Bonus
Poker, Deuces Wild, Double Bonus, Double Joker Poker, Jacks or
better, Joker Poker, Tens or better), as several modes of play, shows
statistics on all possible hold combinations, .... just about all the
features of "store bought" software, except it is a free download.

The main page doesn't give any information as to the people who
designed the software. Just a Contact@VideoPokerunt.com address.

Has anybody used this? I have been, and love the GUI. Only one
problem - no sound accompanying any event.

Heck, some people might think of that as a welcome feature!

(I am using a new keyborad which has a problematic "h" key. Tat migt
explain the letter- not sowing up ere and there; I am a better
speeler tan that!)

ere, ave some - hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Myth

As some one else said ere, I'll answer my own question; from te prior
post.

Video Poker unt is developed by GambleCraft. Looks like the team tat
developed this is Russian. The english in the elp files is rater
poor. (with te missing h's ere, mine might look poor too!)

I'm not. Irregardless, having assessed considerable vp freeware and
shareware programs out of my obsession for all things video poker,
I'll offer up a general assessment: You get what you pay for.

There are some decent free/shareware products out there. But the
designers don't have the commercial incentive to fine tune their
product and give the user something that is very strongly functional.

Any quarter player will see the price of Frugal VP or Winpoker drain
away many times over in the course of just one or two hours. It makes
little sense to scrimp on a product that is likely to return it's
price in improved EV over a modest handful of trips (or possibly just
one).

You're talking "penny-wise and pound-foolish".

Apart from the fact that WinPoker and FVP cost money, and
VideoPokerHunt is free, and conceding that the latter doesn't have
some features of the former (and vice versa), ...

How do you assess the look and feel of this software?

We want functionality, but if it is just that, we could have a DOS-
age program which just prints your hand in ASCII (unextended!).

You are dealt: As - Th - Kd - Kc - 3h
Press 1 2 3 4 5 to hold the cards

Sometimes functionality and a decent user interface are intertwined.
Being able to clearly see what is dealt and what is held makes a
difference. Otherwise, you might hold (or not) card.

In these respects, VPH trumps WinPoker and FVP; handily.

Perhaps what's involved here is simply a matter of personal perception
and preference, for which there isn't a "best" choice that's like to
suit all people.

I find it difficult to cite a deficiency in either commercial product
on count you discuss. FWIW, both products permit card selection via
the alphanumeric 1-5 keys as an alternate to the mouse.

Agreed, yet there are accepted User Interface concepts that I find
are better incorporated in VPH. I am not at all referring to the
games and payoff tables, and strategies.

Yes. But about two weeks ago, in the new version of 100-play Draw
Poker at VideoPoker.Com, they dropped the Enter key choosing the
Space Bar instead. And the CVBNM keys for 12345. I mailed to them to
consider at least having both of them. But some of tese preferences
are borne out of inertial attacment, not based on logic. Otherwise,
we won't still be using QWERTY keyborad at this stage.

Have you looked at VPH?
