video poker tournament

I played in October in the million-dollar-maker tournament at Harrah's [held
at the Rio.] I watched 5 sessions [10 minute play] on DDB.Everyone started
with 500 credits. Those 'in the money' [150 players] had at least 1200
credits.During the 5 sessions at least 3 people who ended with over 1000 credits had
no clue what they were doing, had never even PLAYED VP before and were flying
by the seat of their pants. Many participants 'got it' ref:go for the aces
and quads, just to survive.I ended with 750 credits, NO quads but plenty of full
houses. If I were to do it over, I would keep only high pairs, or deuces,
treys and fours, and aces.Saw 3 royals out of five sessions.Good luck to you, it
was an interesting experience. The Harrah's tournaments are rewards- based
and free to frequent customers, many of whom, as I stated before, either play
infrequently or do not know the game.I was disappointed that it was only 10
minutes of play time, since luck is such an overwhelming factor, more like a
regular old slots tournament.
