I think the original track on vp software got side tracked to
unsavory ethics allegations. I think it would be useful to get back
to the original topic.
About 1 1/2 years ago I was in the market for vp software and or
strategy cards. A local "advantage player" who was knowledgeable
about all the available software packages and strategy cards,
recommened the purchase of Tomski Strategy Master and WinPoker. He
said the combination of these two packages offered the best solution
to video poker playes. I have to say I have been very happy with my
purchase of both of these products. Strategy Master does a great job
of quickly generating accurate strategy sheets, theat can be easily
edited to suit your own tastes for presentation and degree of desired
accuracy. I like the way Winpoker presents in decending order the ev
of each draw option. By using the two packages together I beleive you
can generate the optimal set of strategy cards for your own use,
therefore I decided owning these two packages trumped owning any pre-
made strategy cards. I have spoken with many other players who feel
the same way about the benefit of generating your own strategy cards.
Therefore, software dominates strategy cards.
I have heard people mention that frugal contains a strategy generator
and simulator in one package, but, I have been told by several people
that the combined pakcage of Tomski Strategy Master and Winpoker
dominates Frugal software. Some of these packages advertise bells and
whistles that appear to have dubious worth. Graphs may look nice, but
really add nothing. Adding in comp calculations, is really just
clutter. Some calculations are best left for your brain to do. What
discount factor do you apply to comps or promotions? You are better
off thinking this through rather than blinding entering numbers,
garbage-in garbage-out.
I would like to hear if "Bob's" new program will generate strategy
sheets, of at least the quality of Tomski, and additionally if it
will generate sheets for multistrike, and other games like one eyed
jacks.
