I bought a new computer this year with Windows Vista 64 bit, so of course my old Bob Dancer Win Poker wouldn't work with it. I have discovered that many programs will work with Vista 32 bit, but not 64 bit. I would like to know if any of the video poker software discussed in vp free will work with window vista 64 bit, or windows7 64 bit. (Dell sent me an update disk for window 7 that I haven't yet installed.)
video poker software
Bob Dancers Win Poker worked on my Vista 64 bit and I have since upgraded to Windows 7 still working. Once the disc is installed you need to get a new activation number from the supplier. This can be done via email.

The disc had worked fine with two other computers with different windows windows 98 and windiws xp without an activation number. It wouldn't even load in my new computer, so I quess the disc was corrupted
or ? I still would like the name of some software that will work with vista 64 bit. I got a new camcorder and my computer would not load the program that came with it, so I called Panasonic and they told me it doesnt work with 64 bit. any way, I am aware that some programs work with it and some do not and I want to make sure before I buy one.

I have a new computer with Windows 7 and the only software that will work is Videopoker for Winners. My version was so old it wouldn't load, but I emailed them and they sent me a new disc and I followed the instructions for upgrading to Windows 7. They were very helpful and didn't charge for this and I'm very pleased. It's an excellent training program that has improved my game and I really don't need anything else.

I also have a vista 64 bit PC. Many programs will not easily install from the CD. I instead create a folder, (name it something like BDPoker), and then copy the entire contents of the cd into the folder.
Look at the files that you just copied into the folder, and you should find one that is named something like setup. exe or install.exe or wpinstal.exe or somehthing similar.
Right click on it, move your cursor to send and select send to desktop. This will create a shortcut on your desktop.
Double click on the icon and follow installation instructions. This works for me better then 80% of time with programs that will not install otherwise.
Good Luck!

This sounds like Video Poker for Winners as WinPoker does not requre an authorization to run on another machine. Just the disc or cd. VPW requires an authorization even on the same machine, if say you reformat it.

Hi Mary,
You can download the free trial software at:
http://www.videopokerforwinners.com/freeTrial/
This is a full working programm that you can activate. If you have trouble with the activation you can send an email to their support.
This worked for me.
Goodluck!

VPW requires you to contact their support department EVERY time you have to reinstall. I've had OS crashes, gotten new computers, etc that have required several seperate installs. EACH time I had to email their support dept and wait for them to reply with activation information. Most times the reply came within a couple hours but there were a couple times were it took several hours. Having to wait for VPW support to email you means you are forced to deal with their schedule, not yours, on when the software you purchased will become active.
This added step is a PIA compared to most software products that just provide you with a unique software "key" that you enter each time you have to install. Enter the key and, bingo, you're immediately in business. VPW? Not so much...

This will usually negate the need for the email:
http://www.videopokerforwinners.com/reactivate/
This is also of help:

I had trouble getting mine to work on my Vista 32 machine. But then I tried to run the setup.exe by right clicking on it and selecting, “Run as Administrator.” That did the trick. It might be worth trying on a 64 bit machine.
