I am making an addition to my website called "Video Poker Odds". Because
of all the great math knowledge in this group I asked our administrator if I
could post a link here before opening it to the general public. I hoped all
of the pages were error free but Tomski disproved that. Tomski was kind
enough to review the "Dealt Hands" page.
My objective is to show the odds of most possibilities. I note that the
games covered are JB and/or DDB. On each page I assume that the best
(highest EV) strategy is used.
As an example on the "Discard 5 cards" page the first item is "Four
2,3,4". It shows the odds of catching one of these quads discarding one 2,
3, or 4, and the odds of catching one of these quads after discarding two of
these (2,3,4) cards. I do not show the odds for discarding three of these
because you could not catch one of these quads if you discarded 1 of each
rank. You would not have discarded two of the same rank because that would
be a pair. I also do not show the odds of these quads if you do not discard
a 2, 3, or 4 because you cannot discard 5 cards between 5 and 10 without
having at least a 4-card-inside-straight. You would also not discard a jack
or higher.
I will probably write an explanation page for this new area on the
website later.
