I am heading from home (Hawaii) for work for one week to Walker, MN,
where the Northern Lights Casino is. I'd like to play VP but can
not find any information on the kinds of games they have.
Anybody out there familiar with this or the neighboring Palace
casino? Specifically, I was wondering...
1) are there any games where the player has the advantage?
2) are the machines true VP or are they VLTs?
3) Even though it is not an advantage game (ususally), is there DDB?

I can't tell you about Walker. Haowever, I have a question. Does you
state have no gambling? I believe you don't even have a state
lottery? How about the amusement vp games? Just thought I'd ask.
things are changing fast. maybe you will not have to come back home
to play a few games.

We hit Nothern Lights last year but don't remember a lot of details.
Like most (all?) casinos in Minnesota it is Indian. As I recall there
were no full pay VP machines so question 1) is NO. As for 2) YES the
machines are true VP. 3) Don't remember.
Full pay VP in Minnesota casinos are few and far between. Go and play
for recreation, hope for good luck, have a good time, but don't expect
too much.
Maybe someone else can fill in some of the details.

Yep, I was born and raised in one of the two or three states with no gaming
whatsoever, Hawaii. Not even church bingo, no lottery. Every time gaming
comes up in Hawaii it is killed.
There are illegal casinos which I have never been tempted to go to. Three
guys got whacked in broad daylight last year in a dispute over security for
those places.
There are small video units at bars that you can play games on, not sure if
they have vp -- never been tempted.
This could explain part of our islands' obsession with going to Vegas.

Jonathan,
I've never been to the casinos you reference, however, if you're
willing to drive the 80-90 miles to Grand Casino Mille Lacs they do
have full pay One-eyed Jacks. I haven't been there in a couple of
years so I'm not sure of the rest of the inventory, but they used to
have Illinois Deuces and 8-5 DDB. All of the games are true VP.
