it's probably akin to the handful of machines in a grocery store in Nevada.
picture a dark hallway with sticky floor and sticky buttons. 4 broken stools for five
machines. lady in spandex blocking the aisle, smokin' a Marlboro light 100.

Hi Mark,
Thanks for that vivid discription of VP bliss! I always wanted to
know where you played when you weren't at PEPP or SL. Could you
provide directions, or an address so that we could find this great
place more readily. Or, will this be one of your "secret plays",
too good to share.
By the way, I saw your lady in spandex at the El Cortez in January.
She was spread over her usual 2 stools, playing .50 FPJW, and
dangling a loooong cigarette from her lips, as she cracked her gum.
A long ash fell into her lap, and her spandex caught on fire.
Luckily, a cocktail waitress had just arrived with her gin & tonic,
and thoughtfully poured it on her lap. Can you imagine, she didn't
even tip the gal?
Let me know next time you're going to play in Oregon. Perhaps it
would be a nice change from the Fiesta Rancho.

You'd be surprised at who becomes addicted to gambling of any sort when you put a
gambling "parlor" at nearly every busy intersection in a neighborhood. Housewives,
college students, all the neighboring shopkeepers. My brother has witnessed it in
Oregon.
I witnessed this decades ago in NY State with the advent of off-track (horse) betting
parlors. OTB. "Ma" (not my Ma) would pickup a Daily Racing Form at the grocery
store, and find time to run in and place a few boxed trifectas (kids in the wagon in the
parking lot).
I know my grampa wouldn't have taken his daily walk in his last years unless there
was an OTB to walk to from the retirement home he lived in.
I'm happy to report that an voter initiative to allow this same sort of VP/slots in
neighborhoods here in Washington State failed badly last November. I really think it
degrades the neighborhoods. And drains the spare cash from those least able to
afford it.

Oh sure, in your other post you said one would have to be drunk as a skunk or
passed out to play bad paytables like those in Oregon. Now you're offering to give
them a whirl? HA! (Nipping at the "cooking" wine again, are we?)
I wasn't describing ONE place, I was describing ALL the Places!
And my secret place is "Patty's" - a tavern in Aloha, OR. On a Sunday afternoon I got
a dealt Royal there for $600. There was only two other patrons, both sitting at the
bar, and one of them said, "What's that?" when I told them I just got a dealt Royal.
The other person asked if that meant I was gonna buy everybody a round. At least
they were smart enough to NOT play the machines.
For anyone who really does want to give the Oregon State games a whirl, search the
web on "Oregon State Lottery". With a little clicking, there is a page where you can
type in a Zip code and get a list of places that have VP machines & their addresses.
They pervade the entire state.
I know Babe is just joking- she gets itchy playing a game as low as 99.5% EV.
