video poker in Atlantic City

last week I posted a message before going to Atlantic City asking about
the best place to play VP in AC which seemed to spark some controversy
about VP in general in AC, and about whether or not the machines are
the same as in Nevada. That definitely raised some questions in my
mind, but I went on the junket anyway. We stayed at Harrahs. I found
the 9/6 JOB machines using the link on the VPFree site, but I just want
to say, that was the next to the worst gambling trip I have ever been
on. The first night I didn't even get a 4 of a kind, and I finally gave
up and went to bed early (which I normally never do) but thought maybe
things would be better the next day. Things never did get better the
entire trip. I saw a lot of the same people playing at the same bank of
machines but I never saw anyone come out ahead. The only place that I
saw anyone win, was when I ventured down to Tropicana for a couple of
hours because I knew there were some of the older machines down there
even though I knew they were not full pay. I saw someone hit a RF, and
4 Aces, and I saw his wife hit 4 Aces with the kicker in that short
time. Out of loyalty since my trip was comped I went back to Harrahs,
but I don't plan to ever go back there. Could have just been bad luck.
I don't know.

If you're concerned about full pay, why play at a place like the Cherokees?

We had an extensive discussion of this topic on this board starting
around February 8. You might want to go back and review the
messages.

The conclusion is that the deal in Atlantic City is random.

It sounds like you just had some bad luck and that happens with
video poker even playing JOB.
