Video Poker Disappearing?

I have been playing video poker on my computer for the last 4-5
years and now that I am finally able to go to Las Vegas it seems
that video poker is starting to dry up there.

I've been sort of watching on the sidelines as casino video poker
has gained popularity. I have only been to Las Vegas once and that
was seventeen years ago, so I don't really know what's going on
there outside of what I get from the web.

Why are the casinos removing so many of their VP machines? Is it
because of the economy or has the rise in popularity of VP along
with expert play caused the casinos to lose money with these
machines?

We go to Vegas several times a year & there is still alot of VP out
there. the big change has been the pay tables. We stayed at Gold
Coast last month & did quit well. The Palms (in my opinion) has the
best VP in Vegas. LOTS of full pay dbl bonus. Its out there you just
have to watch those pay tables.

My thoughts only (so i could be wrong):
I don't think video poker is disappearing. Many of
their Pay Schedules are being reduced though since the
Sept 11 incident and coincidentally since they started
showing on the Travel Channel shows such as "How to
beat the Casinos?" and others showing how to pick the
right VP machines such as 10/6 DDB vs 9/6 DDB.
Casino personnel must have seen the same shows.
