Video Poker at Delta Down, Vinton LA

We were recently playing at Delta Downs in Vinton, LA, and saw a sign posted that
said something like" Due to state regulations, all Video Poker will be removed from
Delta Downs as of 12/31/06." I couldn't find anyone at the casino that could tell me
anything about why - as a matter of fact, most of the people I asked didn't even know
about the sign!

Does anyone know if this is some problem with Delta Downs having Video Poker or if
it is some Louisiana regulation concerning ALL video poker in the state?

When the racetracks in Louisiana were allowed to have slot machines
in 2002 video poker wasn't specifically allowed. The racetracks
installed video poker machines and the truckstops which have video
poker complained that the racetracks were hurting their business.
The negotiated settlement called for removal of video poker from
Louisiana racetracks at the end of 2006. Louisiana casinos are not
affected.

That's hilarious...those truck stop casinos can only offer games which
pay out no more than something like 96%. Then again, that's not a lot
worse than what Boyd was offering at DD.

No great loss, IMHO.
