My question is, In video blackjack if you can find a machine that
pays 1.5 to 1 on blackjack then your return is over 99.5% and on 9-6
jacks or better you have to play 5 coin to get 99.5% and this takes
into account a royal. Also your bankroll would have to be much smaller
playing blackjack. What I was wondering was what is the percentage of
return for blackjack that does NOT pay 1.5 to 1 on blackjack, this
might be an alternative to playing 8-5 jacks or better in casinos
like Harrah's that don't offer 9-6 also are the comp points the same
as video poker.Thank You

A 1 to 1 payout for blackjack costs the player approx. 2.3% in
expectation. You would have to know the exact rules and number of
decks used by the machine to calculate the precise expectation, but
as you have guessed the expected return for an even money blackjack
machine with "typical" rules would be very similar to the expected
return for an 8-5 JOB game. As for comp points - this would vary
from casino to casino. Most BJ games are found in multigame slot
machines, which also may contain various VP games. The casino might
have these machines set to award points like their regular slot
machines, or they might be set to award points like their regular VP
machines. I've seen both variations - sometimes even within the same
casino and sometimes even within the same bank of machines.
